My Sweetheart

“For I know the plans  I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

~ Jeremiah 29:11

It just breaks my heart. Seeing her in so much pain, hearing her cry and knowing that she is struggling to breath. This little girl has stolen my heart. I’ve known that she existed for just over a week but time doesn’t matter. She is so very precious.

It’s hard to grasp all that she has to deal with, all she has to overcome. But I know that the Lord has a GOOD plan for her life. It may be hard for us to see as we see her in so much pain, but I know that His plans are good and His ways are right. He has a reason as to why she came to us. A reason why she has anal atresia and a heart defect. We may not have the answers, but He does.

Her heart is broken right now. She has many hurdles to jump over, but we all have faith in her. We believe that she can do it. Whenever I hold her in my arms and pray over her, I tell her “you can do it and God has such a good plan for you!” And I pray that God will give her comfort, peace, strength and wrap her in His loving arms.

A quote that I heard recently:

“Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It’s easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.” – David Platt

This is SO true. It is easier to ignore until you know the name of a child or hold them in your arms. Then they are not just another statistic, they are real.

Please pray for this precious baby girl.

  1. Can I share your sweetheart too? I just signed up to be one of Charlotte's sponsors and quite honestly from the moment you first posted a new baby was to come to NDS (before the photo or the bio with the diagnosis even) I felt a deep sense that she should be the new little one we were to sponsor--and believe me I am honored and blessed to lift her up daily! LOVE all the photos of her. She is indeed a precious treasure whom I know has great things in store for her future. My vrs this morning was Eph.4:20--yes, I know HE can do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine!!
