"Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart."
Yes, I have been neglecting the blog world these last few months. When I was in China, blogging used to be a big part of my life. I did it for several reasons: to keep in touch with family, friends, and supporters; and it also was my outlet. Writing is how I process things, whether it's blogging or journaling. And let's be honest, in China, I didn't have a lot of friends who spoke my language and so I had all kinds of time to write!
I have a busy few months coming up! Some exciting news in my life is that I am leaving for South Korea on Friday! Backing up a little, when I left China, I knew that I wanted to work at an adoption agency and help families through the process. But I also had this dream deep down that I would still love to travel. But in all honesty, I didn't think that would happen. After all, I know people who work at adoption agencies and never get to go to any of the countries they work with, so I didn't think that dream would come true.
But God knows the desires of our hearts and He has worked in ways beyond my imagination (once again). I have been working here for just over 6 months and I already have the opportunity to travel to Korea for 2 weeks to co-lead one of our Birthland Tours. This is an opportunity for families to visit Korea with their children who were adopted from there. We will travel to 3 different cities in South Korea, doing all sorts of touristy things. I think it is going to be a lot of fun! I am going a few days early to visit our sister agency in Seoul and will have the opportunity to visit the sweet kids matched with our families. The process to adopt from Korea is very long now and families have a long, excruciating wait. I love that I get to help them, even just a little, with their long wait by taking videos and pictures of their children and also just loving on them.
Once I am back from Korea, I will work for a few weeks, we will have our China Cultural Camp thrown in there, and then I am flying to NY for 10 days to spend some much needed time with my family.
Once I return to Tulsa, it will be a flurry of business back at the office. I am looking forward to my trip to Korea and to NY. It going to be a fun, but busy summer.
As I look back at all the Lord has done this past year, I stand in awe. A year ago, I was still in China. I was ready to move back to the US, but had no idea what that was going to look like and where I would end up moving. Even though it was scary to move back to the US and the unknowns of the future and then scary to move to Tulsa, I wouldn't trade any of it for anything. What a crazy adventure it has been!
