The Plan All Along

Palm Sunday.
Just 5 days before Jesus' horrible, brutal, painful death.
He rode a donkey into Jerusalem.
As a King, a donkey doesn't exactly shout royalty.

"The next day the great crowd that had come for the Feast heard that Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,

'Hosanna!'
'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!'
'Blessed is the King of Israel!'

Jesus found a young donkey and at upon it, as it is written,
"Do not be afraid, O Daughter of Zion;
see, your king is coming,
seated on a donkey's colt."

At first His disciples did not understand all this. Only after Jesus was glorified did they realize that those things had been written about Him and that they had done these things to Him.
John 12:12-16

Even though it had been prophesied, I don't think they really knew what was coming later in the week. I can just picture Jesus, sitting on that donkey, riding into Jerusalem, and knowing what was to come.

I read something interesting on Instagram this morning.
"Hosanna" actually means "Come save us."

Jesus knew this was coming. He knew He would die a horrible, painful death. But He also knew that He would once again raise from the dead.
That was His plan all along.
