Weary

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28


I am weary and tired. This is going to be one of those blog posts that is brutally honest. It is April 10th which means I have just over 3 months left in China. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but to be honest, I'm tired. I have been going non-stop since I arrived back in China the end of December and it is wearing on me.

The Lord promises that when we are weary and burdened, He will gives us rest. I am leaning on that promise today. As much as I love China, it's a hard place to live. After being here months on end, I just need a break. Thankfully, I'm about to have a little upcoming "vacation." Laura and I are flying to Beijing on Tuesday for a few days. Yes, I'll still be in China and no, it won't be relaxing (although we are planning on relaxing at least a little), but it'll be something different. And right now, I think I just need something different.

I want to finish my time here strong. I want to be able to give of myself completely until the day I leave. The Lord is not done with me here yet and so I will press on. I will rest on His promise that He will sustain me and give me the strength I need, just when I need it.

    It seems to me that you have done more with your life than most, and I think that's going to count for a lot when St. Peter is looking up your file (which hopefully will be in many, many years!).
