Merry Christmas

The cookies and treats have been baked, presents have been wrapped, decorations have been hung, and carols have been sung. It must be Christmas Eve!

Many of you know, that not being home for the holidays has been hard. If I don't think about it too much, I'm fine, but once I think, then I'm in trouble! 

This morning I woke up with a sense of peace covering me. I made a cup of coffee and crawled back into bed to read, journal, and spend time with Him. As I was reflecting on the last year and all that God has done, I stand in awe. Also as I think about this Christmas and all I am missing, yes, it makes me sad, but yet, I'm filled with hope and joy.

This Christmas is especially special. I have watched 2 of my precious little ones leave to join their forever families in the last 2 weeks and one more leaving in two weeks! Yes, I miss them. Yes, it's hard. But just knowing that they are with their families for Christmas brings tears to my eyes. God is good. He has taken something broken and turned it into something beautiful. 

Don't worry, I'm doing some special activities for Christmas. Been baking away today and I think I'm all set! Having a friend over for Christmas Eve dinner and tomorrow morning I will open my gifts under my little tree before heading over to friends for brunch and watching Christmas movies all day. Should be wonderful!
