“Then Peter got out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Immediately Jesus reach out His hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” He said, “why did you doubt?”
Matthew 14:29-31
Do you ever have moments where you feel like Peter? Or is it just me? Moments when you trust God, but you take your focus off of Him for a moment and just like that, you begin to sink?
I do not get paid for the work that I do. Therefore, I rely on financial support from friends and family all over the world. I have been blown away by the amount of love and support people have given me! It’s overwhelming really!
However, I am human. And sometimes I doubt. As I prepare to stay in China another year, I begin to doubt that money will again come in.
Will God continue to provide? Will I be able to meet all the expenses I have? However, I also know that God is not a God to call us to something and then not provide.
He always does. Always will. He is faithful.
I need that reminder as I begin to sink due to doubt. I need to continue looking to Jesus. Because He who has called me WILL provide.

thank you for articulating this.
ReplyDeleteYes he will. :) I can't say that I don't still have my moments of doubt, but seeing God continue to be faithful year after year (and not just in providing financially, but providing friends, roommates, housing, you name it. . .) has definitely made me rest more in him and trust more easily.
