I found out today that the precious little girl that I have been sponsoring at NDFH for the past 8 months has joined her adoptive family! Although I am SO happy for this precious little girl, I’m a bit sad that I was just 1 week shy of meeting her in person. However, due to the fact that she is adopted now, I have been given the privilege to sponsor another little one. This time it’s a little boy who is just shy of 5 years old and recently arrived at the foster home. I don’t know too much about him other than the fact that he needs lots of love and prayer. I WILL be able to meet this little guy next week during my short stay in northern China.
Will you pray for this new little boy that I will now be sponsoring? That he would feel the love of Christ and know how wanted he is? So many kids come to NDFH with not only physical problems, but with broken hearts as well. I pray that his heart will heal. That love will truly make a difference in the life of this precious little boy.

Were you sponsoring Melissa?! She was listed with an * one day and left the following week! I was a little saddened by how quickly she left too--but the beginning of a new life for her that will be full of blessings. (We were one of her sponsors this Christmas) OR maybe it was Emelia that you sponsored? She left quickly too.
ReplyDeleteIt is sometimes hard to be a sponsor isn't it ... loving on those children and then seeing them leave. It is an exercise in love. Freely giving that love away, knowing that they are not your to keep. Of course it is far short of what the foster families pour into them. Oh my.
(sigh)
But what a blessing they are to us too! And I hope that you have not filled that third suitcase yet, because after yesterday's post on Asa, I am mailing myself to you so I can just smuggle away in your suitcase (although I will not fit the weight limit unfortunately.) HA!
Do make sure to love on him LOTS while you are at NDS. He is just SO cute! :-)
Praying for you as you prepare your heart to start a new life of your own!
Hugs, Valerie
Anneli,
ReplyDeleteI clicked over from Jen's because I saw your name and my best friend in high school was from Sweden and named Anneli, and we almost named our first born that.
Like the post and love how your heart pours through on the screen.
