“Walk by faith, not by sight. As you take steps of faith, depending on Me, I will show you how much I can do for you. If you live your life too safely, you will never know the thrill of seeing Me work through you. When I gave you My Spirit, I empowered you to live beyond your natural ability and strength. That’s why it is so wrong to measure your energy level against the challenges ahead of you. The issue is not your strength but Mine, which is limitless. By walking close to Me, you can accomplish My purposes in My strength.”
~Jesus Calling
Tomorrow I embark on an adventure with Jesus. I board a plane at 10:30 a.m. bound for NYC and then for China. As I sit here, on my last night in America, with multiple emotions. The first one is of excitement. Excitement for all that lies ahead. I’m clay in the hands of Jesus for Him to mold me and use me. I’m excited to be a part of bringing joy to the orphans and love the fatherless. I have lots of unknowns coming up, but I know that God goes before me (Deuteronomy 31:8) in all things. He’s already been to China and knows what is to come, so there is nothing to be afraid of.
The second emotion is of uncertainty. Even though God has clearly called me to China and I am so excited, there is still uncertainty. Along with the uncertainty of the future, there is sadness at saying goodbye (or see you later) to the friends and family here in the states who I love so dearly. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers (especially my 11 year old sister, Kiah).
The third emotion is peace. Even though this is for a longer length of time and at new location, I’ve been to China before and I have peace in that. Also peace in knowing that there are SO many people supporting me, praying for me, and loving me. I’ve never felt so loved and supported in my entire life! Even though I’m the only one boarding that plane tomorrow, I feel like I have so many other people coming with me in spirit.
Thanks for all your prayers and support! Please keep me in your prayers especially these next 48 hours as I travel and adjust to life in China again.
