Yesterday, Ruth and I ventured into Beijing to enjoy my last day in northern China. Ruth knows me too well and knew exactly what I needed to start my day off right. I must say that Starbucks has never been such a welcoming sign or welcoming smell! Even though the price of my coffee and scone could probably have fed me 3 Chinese meals, it was so worth it.
What a welcoming sign!
If you can’t tell, I was just a bit excited about my coffee. : )
Hohai Park
In the winter they have “chair skating” at this park.
We started the day with our Starbucks of course at Hohai Park, then walked around at the many little shops they have there. I controlled myself and did not buy anything since I’m flying to southern China this morning and my suitcases have already reached their maximum weight. After our time in Hohai Park, we went to Yashow which is where I did most of my shopping the last time I was in China. Again, we just walked around and looked (which let me tell you is VERY hard to do in China…. they want to tell you everything and don’t understand “just looking”). Finished off our afternoon eating American food (I did this just for Ruth), which was delicious of course.
I’m leaving in 15 minutes to catch my car to take me to the airport to fly south! I must say I am VERY excited about this since I looked out at snow this morning. Warm weather here I come!

Hi Honey Bun Love seeing your blog. How happy you look. What fun being with your babies. They'll love you - so do I.Grandma I'm having fun with Grandma & your family this week. Some Spring Break, huh? Lots of love, Aunt Sharon.
ReplyDeleteits amazing how comforting starbucks can be when you're outside of your normal comfort zone huh? :) I totally agree!
ReplyDeleteI really do think that Starbucks tastes better in China. Or maybe it just seems that way when you get your first "taste" of home. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun and are FINALLY headed south! So anxious to see what God has in sotre for you there! We'll be meeting up before we know it!
Hi Anneli!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to hear you found one of life's most comforting things - coffee - and Starbucks at that! Sounds like things are going well. I can't wait to see your posts when you arrive at your destination.
I will continue to keep you close in thought and prayer.
Love,
Jen
