“Wait Patiently for Him”

"”Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust in Him and He will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him.”

Psalm 37:3-7

You know when you have those days where you feel like nothing is going right? Where by the end of the day you just want to curl up and cry and you’re not even sure why? When everything seems out of control? Well today was one of those days. Started this morning when my car wouldn’t start. So my car is rather moody at times. Starting in the fall it decided that it didn’t like rain and when we get a lot of rain, it doesn’t turn over right away. Will eventually, but not until I’ve had to hold the starter for a while. My mechanic wasn’t quite sure what was wrong although he thinks he knows now. Well that was how this cold, dreary, rainy morning started. I’ll be bringing my car in on Monday.

Work was just stressful. I’ve been gone all of last week other than Friday and most of this week due to training. So when I arrive there is SO much to get caught up on. I have a pile of new files to read through (that’ll keep me busy all next week) while also trying to write quarterly progress notes and monthly progress notes as well as several new plans for people.

Then Jeff is coming on Saturday. “I should be excited” you may ask? Oh I am!!! I just have so much to do before then that it’s rather overwhelming. Also that he will be leaving India at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow our time and I have no way to contact him right now (doesn’t have internet or a phone anymore). Makes a girlfriend just a little bit nervous and antsy. The next time I talk to him will probably be in the Buffalo airport on Saturday. And IN PERSON. : )

When I got home from work I just wanted to cry, so many things going on right now. None of them are a big deal (other than Jeff coming back) but it was just overwhelming. As I sat on my bed relaxing and calming down in the Lord’s presence, he gave me the verse above. He knows what He’s doing. I may have had to be patient SO much this past year but that doesn’t mean I get to end now. That’s what I did tonight was be “still before the Lord.” I’m in a hurry all the time that I forget to be still and listen for His voice. It’s there if I’ll just be still long enough to hear it. Does my crazy life make any sense? Not really. At least not right now. But God is in control. He has a plan if I’ll only let it unfold in His timing. “Wait patiently on Him.”

  1. I love that scripture, and I think I needed this post as much as you today!

I'm just glad you know "Who" to turn to in times of restless uneasiness, like today. And that you continue to seek His face in the midst of the storms of life. His grace is nothing short of amazing, and He will surely see you through and bring you rest.

Can't wait for your weekend to begin. Praying God multiplies every minute you have with Jeff, and that you have a most blessed reunion! I'll be thinking of you!! <><

    BIG Hugs,
    Tanya
