His Plan is Always Better

"In their hearts human beings plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps."    -Proverbs 16:9
I'm realizing more and more how true this verse is. I mean I knew it was true but I feel as though I'm really learning it now. The number of times I try to plan my life. Try to figure out what God is doing, why I'm going through certain things and why I have to learn a lesson through something else. However, through it all God is doing something. He tells us that we can plan all we want, but only His plan is what will happen. Can it be our plan sometimes? Of course! But I feel more often and not it is not my plan. However it is usually much better than I could ever plan or imagine! If things would go how I wanted them, it would not be a pretty picture! Why do we still do that though? Why as humans to we continue over and over again to "go our own way." You'd think after 24 years, I would have learned by now! So since I'm stubborn, He just continues to remind me who is in charge of my life and thank goodness it is not me!
So it's been an interesting week. This has also been an interesting year. An incredible one, but an interesting one. Was in China from January through May and then was up at Mission Meadows. After that thought I would get a "real job," in Jamestown, move into an apartment with 2 of my best friends for the next year and life would be great. Well interview #1 happened. They hired internally. Interview #2 happened. They again hired internally, but offered me a job in an office 1 1/2 hours away. I turned it down. Interview #3 happened. Still haven't heard anything so I'm assuming I did not get it. Interview #4. Got it, but it's only 12 hours a week tutoring in an afterschool program. I love it, it's just not a full time job. I'm so thankful the way that the Lord has provided and also the clear answers He has given me. I've realized that for right now I am NOT supposed to move out. Am I ready? I think so, but for whatever reason this "right job" has not fallen into place yet. Funny how life never turns out how we think it will. But even though I don't understand it right now, I know His plan is much better than mine.

  1. Love you and love that you still blog. Praying for you :)

  2. Thanks friend! Yeah, not quite as much as China, but I still like to do it although just not as many interesting things to blog about. I didn't realize how much more exciting China was until I didn't blog about it anymore. Miss you!
