In the Word

“This happened so that the works of God might be displayed in Him.” (John 9:2)

Bittersweet. Saying goodbye yet rejoicing that she will soon be with her forever family. A family who has prayed for her for almost 2 years and yearned to bring her home.

Yesterday I got to spend some precious moments with my little one. She’s become my “side kick” lately and I will admit, I’ve loved it! I had my Bible lying on desk trying to find a verse to send her off with. She decided she wanted to look through it. I captured some sweet moments on film as she very carefully turned the pages. It was like she knew this was a gift from God. I think she actually liked the underlining and writing I have in it, but all the same, it was still adorable! She then proceeded to tell me that she was bringing it with her to America! Umm….. sorry sweetheart!

I am rejoicing over the fact that she is on her way to meet her parents. What a glorious meeting that will be! Wish I could be a fly on the wall to see that precious moment when they meet. I pray that as she grows, she will love reading the Word of God as much as she enjoyed looking through it yesterday. That she will come to know her Lord and Savior as hers and strive to do His will for her life. As she leaves me, that is my hope and prayer.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

This is what it’s all about. God taking something as painful and heartbreaking as abandonment and turning it into something good.

“Adoption is a redemptive response to tragedy that happens in this broken world.” – Katie J. Davis

Glory be to Him alone. To God be the Glory, great things HE HAS DONE!
