Thanksgiving Recap

I pray that all my American friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with family and friends and reflecting on this last year and all that our Heavenly Father has blessed us with.

This Thanksgiving was a bit different for me. It was my first Thanksgiving not spent at my home with my family and friends, and I was a bit hesitant as to how I would handle it. However, it was wonderful! I got to spend it with friends from all over the US who are serving in China. And let me tell you, it sure was an “All American” Thanksgiving. I even forgot I was in China for a few moments with turkey, mashed potatoes, and “the works.”  Even got the watch the Macey’s Thanksgiving Day parade. Granted it was taped from 2008, but who really remembers! The family I stayed with had a fun tradition where they would have their Thanksgiving guests sign their table clothe each year to keep track of who spend Thanksgiving with them and when. I thought that was just a wonderful idea.

Some of the things I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving 2012….

I’m thankful for the fact that I did NOT have to eat Chinese food on Thanksgiving…. was nice to have an American meal.

I’m so thankful for His love and faithfulness and that He never gives up on me no matter how often I fail Him.

I’m thankful for my family and friends who are an amazing support system for me. Even though I’m thousands of miles away from them, they remind me constantly that I am loved, missed, and most importantly prayed for.

I’m thankful for my new friends that I have met in this country and for their generosity and love.

I’m thankful for each of the precious children I have the privilege of caring for.

I am thankful for the families who are in the process of adopting or have adopted and giving a forever family of their very own.

And most of all I’m thankful to my Jesus who died for me and all my sins.

What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving season?

  1. I have a lot to be thankful for. One of them is that The Lord is using people like you who are willing to sacrifice for His work. Praying for you!
