10 Years Ago my Life was Forever Changed…

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”

10 years ago today, my life was forever changed, in more ways that I could ever begin to imagine. 20 months after beginning the adoption process, my family received “the call.” We had a baby girl waiting for us in China! After years of praying for a little sister, I finally had one!

Here is the first picture and information we received about Kiah Hope RuiQing:

Name: Feng Rui Qing

DOB: February 23, 2001

Residing in: Zunyi, Guizhou Province

Little did I know on April 8, 2002, that 10 years later, April 8, 2012, I would be living in China being a voice for the orphaned and the fatherless. Loving these precious children that are still waiting for their forever family.

I know that God has a plan for each of these children, even if their lives haven’t started out in the most glamorous ways. I believe this with all my heart.

 

My life was forever changed that day when I saw the picture of by baby sister for the first time. I was so excited to meet her, but also felt this ache in my heart for those children left behind in China. An ache and a desire to DO SOMETHING. But at age 16, I had no idea what.

 

But God was working on my heart and preparing me for something that I never could have imagined….

Keep looking to Jesus, Kiah, and He will guide through life no matter where you are. Even if we are half a world apart right now, know that I love you and miss you so much. Thank you for opening my eyes and my heart to the needs of this world.
