Hard to believe that you are 11 years old, baby girl…. how did THAT happen?
Seems like just yesterday that we saw your picture for the first time on April 8, 2002.
And I held you for the first time on June 6, 2002. But it has been almost 10 years now.
It’s so hard to imagine life without you. You have brought such joy and happiness to our family and even though we may not look alike, but we are definitely sisters! I can’t get over how much you act like me!
Your life became very crazy super fast when you joined our family!
On your 11th birthday, I can’t help but think of your birth mother. Does she have peace in her heart? Does she know that you are loved and cherished and happy? Does she think about you and wonder how her baby girl is? I know that she loves you SO much. I just know that she wanted you to have a hope and a future and wanted the very best for you. Even though we may have so many questions and not many answers, I know that God turned sadness into good. Sorrow into joy. I just pray for your birth mother’s heart. That God will place peace in it and a contentment that you are okay and that you have turned into a BEAUTIFUL little girl.
It’s hard to believe that when you were found at 6 weeks of age, your orphanage didn’t know if you would make it or not. And now look at you!
Kiah, you have such a way with people. You have such a caring heart and a passion for orphans and kids who may not fit in. You notice the kids who need love and who need a friend, and you are that friend to them.
I see Jesus in you. Shining straight through. I know God has HUGE plans in store for your life and I am so blessed to be able to be a part of my life. Watching you and your life, has given me the passion and desire to go love children who have not found their forever families. And I’m glad you have warmed up to the idea of me going to China. Especially if it means that you get to come for a visit someday! Although I will miss my roomie!
I’m so proud of you precious baby girl. I love you so very much and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your life. I’m so glad that I get to be your big sister.
Happy 11th Birthday Kiah Hope RuiQing! I couldn’t love you anymore than I do now.

What a beautiful post, Anneli! I hope Kiah has a joy-filled birthday. I still remember one of the first times I saw Kiah at church as a little toddler. She is precious. Although I don't know Kiah very well yet as a person, I appreciated your words about the person that she is and the person that God is making her into. You have all been blessed by the gift of having Kiah as a part of your family. Happy Birthday, Kiah!
