“Do not be anxious about anything…”

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Phillipians 4:6-7

This has become my life verse so it seems. So many times when something tough is going on or I’m just excited about something, I just get so anxious. I want to say “hurry up God” when He tells us not to be anxious. But rather to present our requests to Him and He will grant us peace. I’m praying for peace right now. Praying that God will cover me with His presence and His peace as the next 7 days may go rather slowly. Why you may ask? My boyfriend, Jeff, has been in India for the past year and will be arriving here next Saturday. This is the first time I will have seen him in person since January 2010. Needless to say I’m just a LITTLE anxious! However how much of my life do I wish away? Wanting whatever it is that God wants next for me? When in reality I should be living in the moment. Where God has me at THIS moment. What does the future hold? I have no idea. But rather than worry about it or being anxious about it, I want to be right where God has me. Living right now. God will grant peace and calm the anxiety of those who ask Him.

  1. Thanks...I needed this! (and I'm sure it's no secret to you, as of 'why'?!) It's such a simple verse, so why do we often try to get in God's way and change the outcome to suit our own timing?! We DO need to live in this day. In THIS moment, and trust in the ONE Who goes before us! He is faithful, and He will see us through if we seek Him first!

Praying for you as you 'anxiously' await Jeff's arrival. That's a long time since you were last together. A LOT has happened in both of your lives since then. I'm sure it will be surreal seeing one another again, and sharing all that God has been doing in your lives. What a wonderful time that will be. Praying for Jeff's safe travels and that you have a blessed time together! <><

Love the new 'look' on your blog. Though, just a little FYI that I noticed a small typo in the verse on your header... you have 'name' spelled 'anme' ~ thought you might like to know!! ;) LOVE the cheery colors and I love that scripture, too!

Have a nice weekend and God bless! <><
