“Plans to Give You a Future and a Hope”

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

                                                                                                                                              ~Jeremiah 29:11

God does have a hope and a future and a plan for each and every one of us. That includes the widows and the orphans.

"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

                                     ~James 1:27

“Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west.”

~Isaiah 43:5

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the week. Even youths grown tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

~Isaiah 40:29-31

Many of you are aware that during my time in China last year, I was given the incredible privilege of naming one precious little girl. She was given the name Kiah which means “God is strength.” God is strength and God gives hope and strength to those who are week. Kiah was week when she came to ND in March 2010. 2 months old and weighing only about 6 1/2 lbs. She had a heart condition that if wasn’t repaired, would end her life. She was tiny and small and when I held her in my arms, felt like I was holding barely anything. This tiny body in my arms felt so lifeless. Except for the fact that this girl had some lungs in her! She had a will to live and was a little fighter. During my time in China and even after, she has gained strength and gotten bigger and bigger. She was able to have her life changing heart surgery in September 2010 and since then has grown and developed so much. Since leaving  China in May 2010, I have since been sponsoring Kiah and receive updated monthly on her progress as well as pictures. I can’t believe how big she is. Hardly looks like the fragile baby I held over a year ago when she first arrived.

But God had a plan for her life. A plan for her to prosper and not to be harmed. A a future and a hope. I found out on Wednesday, April 20th that my little Kiah has been MATCHED with a family of her very own. A family who will love her and cherish her and I pray will raise her up to know the love of the Lord. I don’t know where she is going or when but I DO know that God has a very special plan for her life. I just feel honored that I could take a small part in her life. She Her life is a miracle and she has continued to bless me.

So happy for you baby girl! You’ll be home so very soon!

  1. It's no secret to you how much I love this little sweetie pie. But like you, I trust that God has a plan for all of His children, and I'm praying that Kiah grows up knowing about the love of Jesus and all He has done in her life. She is a precious little girl, and I pray she is loved beyond measure and has a wonderful and healthy life in her new family. They are truly, truly blessed!!
